The result is a quiet, cushioned ride that is free of jerking. This model works in conjunction with the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch.
The Companion features a clean, level bed when not in use. Installation is a breeze. Drop the post on the base into the hole in the bed, latch into pace in the wheel well, and tighten the draw-down bolt. Then set the coupler on the arms and pin in place.
The handle operates effortlessly and never leaves you in a bind, thanks to the use of a cam. When the handle is open, the cam moves out of the way allowing the jaws to open when you pull away and uncouple. When the handle is closed, the cam prevents the jaws from opening, preventing accidental release.
The Companion jaws are machined to precisely fit your coupler so there isn’t room for sloppiness. A shock absorber allows side-to-side movement without slamming. The whole coupler rides on polyurethane bushings that absorb roughness from the road.
The Companion is available with a fixed base, a flatbed base, or as a slider to help you navigate tight corners with a short-bed truck. Flip the lever and the Companion slides back 12″ so you can maneuver without hitting your trailer on your cab. When you’re ready to tow, flip the lever again and the slider locks into place as you back up.
